When I was a child, we used to all sit at the dinner table a have fondue (meat)...stick the meat and hear it hiss and cook in the pot..great memories...so I thought to try this pot...well the sticks are made of such cheap metal that you can bend them between your finger...no kidding!..the base is "rickety" the fuel pot is pressed metal and looks like it was done in High School metal shop....I know I spent [$]...but it is probably cost them $8 to make it....it's that disappointing! I can't return it as the two of the forks are already bent from hand washing them...it's that cheap..JCM

needs to make sure you use the liner with chocolate or cheese or will burn badly

The 3 in 1 is great, but we had issues when it came to the meat portion. We tried the recipe for the Chinese fondue which cooks the meats using broth versus oil. It took forever to cook the meat and we had the gel fuel turned up as high as it would go and it just didn't cook as quickly as we would have wanted/expected.

Although it may not be in the directions, I'm going to try and use a sterno can the next time to get the pot and contents hotter to allow for a quicker cooking time.

However, we used this for the traditional cheese fondue as well and it worked great!
